I’ve very lucky to live an hour’s drive from the heart of the Lake District. So we met up with some good friends and walked up Red Screes (776m) – followed with some quality food!
The route itself was about 8 miles or so from the village of Ambleside due north up Scandale Fell, onto the summit of Red Screes and then a straight line back to Ambleside. We got some great conditions and it made me wish I’d brought my SLR for a few “quality” shots. Afterwards we ate at a place called Lucy4 which I highly recommend if you have a night out in Ambleside!

Wow Red Screes makes for a great walk, went there years ago – much quieter than Scafell Pikes or other well known fells. Some great shots, makes me want to go back!
